Buchberg / Rüdlingen

Two stand-up paddlers are on the Rhine in Buchberg-Rüdlingen. Above the vineyards on the bank is the church.

Rubber boating & SUP on the Rhine

Treat yourself to a break on the Rhine. Let the current carry you as you leisurely paddle with a stand-up paddleboard or drift in an inflatable boat. It's ideal for finding peace and clearing your mind. Always remember to be considerate and careful towards everyone else on the Rhine.

Routes

The section between Stein am Rhein and Schaffhausen is perfect for rubber boating and stand-up paddling. You will pass lido's for a break, beautiful houses and idyllic spots on the Rhine.

And for those who like things a little quieter, the "Amazon of the Rhine" from the Rhine Falls down the Rhine invites you to take a leisurely stroll on the water.

  • Stay close to the shore. Keep your distance from Wiffen (marking signs in the Rhine). Green is for course boats.
  • Do not tie rubber boats or SUPs together. Never wear a leash.
  • At least one person always remains in the boat to maneuver.
  • Only enter or go on open waters if you are an experienced swimmer.
  • Avoid alcohol.
  • Check the weather before your tour. In case of a thunderstorm, immediately leave the water.
  • Label boats and SUPs with your name and phone number.
  • You need to bring: life jackets, paddles.
Two buoys are in the Rhine. The sign is divided into a white and green side and attached to a wooden post. In the background, you can see the town of Stein am Rhein.
