The originally wooden, 40-foot-high tower from 1872 collapsed in 1894 and was replaced in 1909 by an iron tower in the ruins of the Schleitheim Randenburg. Today 896 m above sea level. During the Second World War, the tower served the Swiss Army as an observation post for anti-aircraft troops.
