Guided tour with the Bückiträger in the old town
Follow the Bükiträger and learn more about the secrets of Schaffhausen wine.
Schaffhausen was once an important wine-producing town with around 300 hectares of vineyards and 74 wine presses. In good years, around 7.5 million liters of wine could be stored in the more than 240 cellars in Schaffhausen's old town.
During the tour, the Bückiträger shows you various corners of Schaffhausen's old town that are connected with wine and viticulture. Along the way, you will learn all kinds of interesting and amusing facts about winegrowing in Schaffhausen, including what the "Badschenki-Wii" was all about, where the best vineyards in the city were located, why the "Weinsinner" were feared, and what is meant by a "Purligiiger."
