IWC Schaffhausen Museum

The grounds of the IWC headquarters in Schaffhausen were once home to the orchard of the Allerheiligen Monastery. Between 1874 and 1875, a factory building was constructed in the garden, located directly on the Rhine, based on plans by architect G. Meyer. The new building was commissioned by the American watchmaker Florentine Ariosto Jones. His pioneering spirit led to the founding of the first watch manufacture in northeastern Switzerland.
In 1993, the company opened its doors to visitors for the first time to mark its 125th anniversary. Since then, visitors have been able to view and admire the works of art created by the watchmakers of Schaffhausen up close at the IWC Museum. Housed in a historic building, the watch museum was the first of its kind in Switzerland. More than 230 carefully selected exhibits bear witness to a manufacturer that, from the very beginning, has made a name for itself through exceptional reliability and a distinctive, universally appealing design.
