IWC Schaffhausen Museum

The site of the IWC headquarters in Schaffhausen was once home to the orchard of the Allerheiligen Monastery. Between 1874 and 1875, a factory building designed by architect G. Meyer was constructed in the garden, which is situated directly on the Rhine. The new building was commissioned by the American watchmaker Florentine Ariosto Jones. His pioneering spirit led to the founding of the first watch manufacture in northeastern Switzerland. In 1993, on the occasion of its 125th anniversary, the company opened its doors to visitors for the first time. Since then, the works of art created by the watchmakers of Schaffhausen have been on display at the IWC Museum, where they can be viewed up close and admired. The watch museum, housed in a historic building, was the first of its kind in Switzerland. More than 230 carefully selected exhibits bear witness to a manufacturer that, from the very beginning, made a name for itself through exceptional reliability and a distinctive, universally appealing design.
