Rheinau Monastery Church
Visit the Rheinau Abbey Church, one of Switzerland's most beautiful Baroque churches.

The Rheinau Abbey Church was designed according to a Vorarlberg minster scheme: a seven-bay hall with wall pillars; the transept and chancel are slightly raised and separated from the nave by a grille.
Upon entering the church, the magnificent side altars are impressive. They are arranged like side scenes, focusing on the center, the high altar.
The main theme of the church is Mary. The ceiling frescoes, painted by Francesco Giorgoli from Ticino, are still preserved in their original freshness. The magnificent choir screen was erected by the Konstanz locksmiths Allweiler and Scheuermann.
