Radegg Ruin

Radegg Ruin
The ruins of Radegg Castle lie on the southern slope of the Rossberg in Osterfingen, on a rugged mountain spur.

Media

A drawbridge and a castle gate most likely led through the west wall, where a wooden walkway has now been installed, into the residential building. The castle was first mentioned around 1200. The lords of Rossberg owned estates in Osterfingen, Löhningen, Beringen, Guntmadingen, and Trasadingen. The castle was probably destroyed during battles with the surrounding nobility. The bow and crossbow arrows found on the grounds of the outer bailey, as well as traces of fire, point to this demise.
