How was cider pressed from apples in the past? What tools did our ancestors need in the forest and in the fields? How did children play 100 years ago and what was the distribution of roles and workload like? In the St. Katharinental show depot, the only one of its kind in Switzerland, visitors can get up close and personal with our history. Not only is the variety and abundance of over 10,000 original objects on display relating to agriculture, viticulture, transportation, trade, crafts, housework and living unique, but also their atmospheric and public-oriented presentation on 2000 m2 - and all this without any glass cabinets. Guided tours with gripping stories and exciting anecdotes are suitable for companies, clubs, families and friends. Ideally combined with a visit to the magnificent St. Katharinental monastery church and culinary delights on the picturesque terrace by the Rhine. The show depot is open all year round by appointment. As the rooms are unheated, we recommend a visit from April 1 to October 31.
