The former dye warehouse next to the main building, which once belonged to the textile dyeing workshop, was lovingly converted into an apartment in 2023. After the building had long been left to decay, it was completely restored and rebuilt with great care and respect for the existing structure. Inside, historic wooden beams and sections of Diessenhofen’s original city wall serve as reminders of the house’s long history.
The Färberhaus is part of a historic building complex dating back to 1518 and is located directly on the Rhine in the historic town of Diessenhofen. Today, the apartment combines historic architecture with a serene, modern design.
On the ground floor, a large picture window opens the living area onto the patio and the Rhine. Here you’ll find the kitchen, a dining table, and a cozy living room that’s perfect for reading or listening to music. The fully equipped kitchen is perfect for cooking. A Bialetti espresso maker, a milk frother, and a tea set are also provided. A washer-dryer combo is available on the same floor.
The bedroom, featuring a double bed and a small reading nook, is located on the first floor. The window offers a view of the Rhine. A special feature is the spacious bathtub, which opens onto the room. Towels, shampoo, and shower gel are, of course, provided. There is also a workspace set up here so you can jot down your thoughts in a notebook, do some drawing, or send postcards.
A steep ladder leads up to the loft, a cozy sleeping area under the roof. Two additional guests can stay here. Because of the ladder, this area is particularly suitable for teenagers or adults.
In front of the house is a private seating area with a table and four chairs, surrounded by plants. Perfect for a morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening. The popular Rhine hiking trail runs right next to it. This makes the house part of the lively riverfront and, at the same time, a wonderful starting point for walks, bike rides, and explorations along the Rhine.
The charming old town of Diessenhofen and the harbor are just a few minutes’ walk away.
