Herb garden Allerheiligen

A journey through the cultural history of plants
In 1937/38, a new herb garden was created where the "Chrutgarte" used to be in the Allerheiligen monastery complex. While the Benedictine monks focused on the benefits of medicinal, spice and vegetable plants, today's herb garden is a show garden and an oasis of peace. The plants are not harvested. In addition to typical monastic plants, the herb garden at Allerheiligen includes medicinal plants, plants of folk botanical importance from farm gardens and biblical plants.
