Museum of Allerheiligen Schaffhausen

Museum of Allerheiligen Schaffhausen
The Museum zu Allerheiligen is one of Schaffhausen's major attractions. In the heart of Schaffhausen's old town - in the former Benedictine monastery of Allerheiligen - Switzerland's most diverse universal museum takes its visitors on a journey back in time to past worlds.

Media

Unique exhibits and interactive media stations tell the story of Ice Age hunters, the heyday of the monastery and the eventful history of Schaffhausen as a town and industrial center. An important art collection displays works from the Renaissance to the present day. Archaeological treasures from Mesopotamia to South America can be seen in the internationally acclaimed Ebnöther antiquities collection. In addition to the permanent exhibitions, regular temporary exhibitions focus on current themes. The impressive cathedral, the idyllic herb garden and the largest freely accessible cloister in Switzerland are also part of the overall complex. A visit to the museum always takes place in a very special atmosphere. Families and children The Museum zu Allerheiligen is an exciting excursion destination for the whole family. Highlights include the popular torchlight tours and the regular adventure afternoons, which invite children to discover and experiment independently through play. Once a year, a big family day is held in and around the museum. For all those who would like to explore the Museum zu Allerheiligen with the family on their own, there are puzzle and search games, a children's podcast and a Stone Age hunting camp where the little ones can camp and the older children can make a Stone Age necklace with a shell.
