Founded in 1988 as a loose group of concert and party organizers, the TapTab Music Association has been running the TapTab Music Room—a club with a capacity of 200 people—on its own since the opening of the Kammgarn Cultural Center Kammgarn .

Every year, around 15,000 visitors enjoy the wide range of events on offer: concerts, parties, poetry slams, films (such as the “Kurz & Knapp” short film series), musical readings, and much more.

The TapTab organizing team—consisting of about 40 active members and an additional 60 volunteers—showcases the underground, the non-mainstream, and new trends in pop culture and DJ culture, and consistently provides a platform for local and regional bands, DJs, short-film makers, and slam poets. In addition, TapTab fosters international connections with like-minded scenes and brings acts from all over the world to Schaffhausen. With 130 events annually, it is the region’s most prominent music club (awarded the +GF+ Prize in 2002) and has become an integral part of the local cultural scene.
