Hello and welcome to W&W Weinbau. We’d like to give you a glimpse into our work and introduce you to our wines. Our goal is to offer you fine, regional wines produced with the utmost respect for nature and the environment. We feel a deep connection to our products and to our beautiful home, the Chläggi (Klettgau). It is important to us to give the vines sufficient attention throughout the entire growing season and to always keep an eye on the vagaries of the weather (e.g., drought, rain, frost, hail). This begins with careful pruning in winter, the maintenance of the vineyard, and continues through tying up the vines, harvesting, tying the shoots, plant protection, and leaf removal, all the way through to the fall harvest. A great deal of predominantly manual labor is required for the vines to grow and thrive. The quality of our wines is born in the vineyard. Our grape varieties: Riesling-Silvaner, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Seyval Blanc, Cabernet Jura, and Muscat Blossom (our three PIWI varieties). PIWI stands for “fungus-resistant.” With these two varieties, the use of pesticides is reduced to a minimum, meaning fewer passes = reduced ground pressure = lower CO2 emissions = a contribution to environmental protection. In the future, we will focus even more on PIWI varieties and help our customers understand their benefits. Stay curious!
Wine Sales
You’re welcome to visit our winery every Friday from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m., or at other times by prior telephone arrangement. Of course, you’re welcome to taste our wines before your visit.
