The Hagenturm is a 40-metre-high steel lattice tower near Merishausen. It was built in 1989 on behalf of the federal government and replaced an earlier tower built for surveying purposes. Situated at 912 meters above sea level, it is the highest point in the canton of Schaffhausen. The viewing platform above the treetops offers a unique panoramic view from the Black Forest to the Alps.
