House zum Goldenen Ochsen
Media
17th century. One of the grandest houses in old Schaffhausen, located on the former cattle market. It also served as an inn until 1608. When it was converted into an elegant town house in 1608, the late Gothic façade was given the splendor of the German Renaissance in the form of oriel windows and a portal. The frescoes on the façade depict a golden ox as a house symbol and figures from Babylonian history and Greek antiquity. In particular, the heroes from the Trojan War.
