The large market scales used to hang in the Fronwagturm tower. These scales were used to weigh goods that were unloaded from ships in Schaffhausen and reloaded onto ships below the Rhine Falls. Today, the scales are on display in the Museum zu Allerheiligen. The gable of the tower features Joachim Habrecht's astronomical clock, which displays ten different functions:
- hours
- weekdays
- Moon cycle through the zodiac signs
- Rise and set of the moon in the sky
- Position of the Sun relative to the zodiac
- seasons
- equinoxes
- lunar node
- eclipses
- Aspects between the sun and moon. The black and gold sphere above the Roman XII on the clock shows the waxing and waning of the moon.
