Schwanen Cinema & Theater
Until 1600, the building was known as the Kreuz or Weisses Kreuz and was used as a residence, inn and tavern. Over time, it developed into the leading Gasthaus on the square.
In 1927, the Gasthaus was converted into a cinema and has been one of the oldest cinemas in Switzerland ever since.
In 2018, the cinema auditorium was gently renovated and the technical equipment renewed.
The wheelchair-accessible cinema has 70 comfortable seats, modern projection technology (including 3D), Dolby surround sound and hearing assistance.
Current movies are shown at weekends. The cinema can also be hired for private events.
Cabaret and concerts are regularly held on the stage.
