Vines were already growing on Hallauer Chilcheweg in the 16th century. This former pilgrimage route, now a municipal road, leads from the center of Hallau along the mountain road through the beautiful vineyard landscape to church . The tranquil wine-growing village of Hallau is home to the Hallau vineyard (formerly also known as Volg Weinkellereien), which has long been part of the Schaffhausen wine-growing scene. The vineyard covers 20 hectares of leased land. In addition to Hallau, these vineyards are also located in Oberhallau, Trasadingen, and Gächlingen.
