Mohrenbrunnen
Media
The Mohrenbrunnen was formerly known as the Schwertbrunnen. In 1535, the original wooden fountain was replaced by a stone one. The column dates back to 1520. The Mohrenbrunnen was named after Caspar, depicted as a Moor, the youngest of the Three Wise Men, holding a scimitar, a golden chalice, and a coat of arms. It is affectionately known as 'de Mohrejoggeli' by the locals. This unique fountain figure symbolizes the prosperous city dweller.
